Lower School Admission Procedure

Kindergarten is our biggest entry year, and families are invited to apply through Grade 7. Your future Kindergarten student should be five years old by September 30th of the year you wish them to enter.

What to expect from the application process:

  • Parents are encouraged to make an appointment with the Director of Admissions, Nissa Weinberg, to learn more about the school.
  • Applications are completed online, using the link at the top of this page, and received by the KSDS office. Parents will be asked to sign the Transcript Release Form and turn it in to their current school.
  • Parents will be contacted to schedule an appointment for their child to take either the WPPSI-IV or WISC-V evaluation.
  • Parents will bring their child to the admission office to meet the evaluation administrator. This will last approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. Parents will receive written feedback after the evaluation.
  • Prospective students in Grades 2-4 will be invited for a shadow day.
  • Parents are notified of the Admission Committee’s decision by February 19, 2027.
  • Parents notify the Admission Office of their decision to accept placement by March 5, 2027.
  • Requests for financial aid are directed to the KSDS Business Office. Contact Miriam Golob with any questions.
